Furfural plant nearly ready

27 August 2009: The Whitsunday Times reports:

THE Proserpine Sugar Mill furfural plant, the first of it kind in Australia, will start production in September. Proserpine Co-op Sugar Milling Association chief executive officer John Power said furfural commissioning had started and so far those items of the plant that have been tested have operated as planned with only a few minor problems detected.

11 November 2008, Proserpine (Queensland, Australia) - At a recent briefing of the members of Proserpine Cooperative Sugar Mill, CEO of the Sugar Mill & Biorefinery, John Power, provided an update on the progress of the construction of the new bagasse drier and furfural plant that are scheduled to go into production during the 2009
crushing season.

Proserpine (Queensland, Australia), 19 July 2008 - Arcoy Biorefinery Private Limited (India) has chosen the novel SupraYield® technology to manufacture furfural as feedstock for their new Furfuryl Alcohol manufacturing facility On behalf of Proserpine Cooperative Sugar Milling Association (PCSMA), DalinYebo Trading and Development (Pty) Ltd has negotiated PCSMA’s first sale outside Australia of the new SupraYield® process, which is the operating system for the new furfural plant being constructed at Proserpine (Queensland, Australia).
